The socket wrench is a versatile addition in almost all forms of installation or disassembly operation.

Socket Wrenches are tools that allow loosening and tightening of nuts and bolts, without worrying about buying many different tools.

Socket wrenches are usually used as an attachment to fastening equipment like Ratchet wrenches, power tools, T Handle Bars and Torque Wrenches. The construction and grip of socket wrenches prevent damage to the fastening connection when force is applied.

Why are there so many types of Socket Wrenches?

Think of the number of tools you have in your workshop and consider the number of wrenches and screwdrivers you are keeping. Now with a socket wrench you can have all these tools in a compact and easy to carry box. In a single box, you have all the screw connections you need to get your work done.

Other than removing standard nuts and bolts, Socket Wrenches match the large variety of screws that are available in the market.

Can socket wrenches save me money?

Yes of course it can!

If properly organized, a socket wrench set can make your tool selections quick. This is especially useful when the tool sets come with foam/plastic inlays. Instead of wasting time rummaging through a tool box, consider an organized socket wrench sets. Misplacing a socket is not as heart wrenching as losing a wrench. Take my money!... But wait, which socket set do I choose?

Follow these steps when considering your purchase:

  1. Size of Parts  - Consider a 3/8" or 1/2" Socket Set for Vehicles and 1/4" Set for Regular Household Appliances. For Large Pipes and Machinery, look for a 3/4" or 1" Socket Set. Consider a mix of 1/4" and 1/2" Socket Sets for versatility.
  2. Type of Fasteners - Look for screw connections and bolt sizes. Bolts can be measured with a vernier caliper.
  3. Difficulty of Reach - This is where a ratchet wrench and socket accessories like extension bars can save you a lot of time and effort.

Our favourite is our 105pc Socket Set as it covers most general applications in a single box.
