The right wall sander depends on where you can stand and how much room you have to move. Open walls and ceilings present a different handling problem from a bathroom, narrow corridor or enclosed work area. President Trading lists both the Mirka LEROS 950CV and the compact LEROS-S 950CV for teams choosing a professional surface-preparation setup.
The key difference is working reach and manoeuvrability
Both listed models use a 225 mm sanding pad and a 5 mm random orbit. The standard LEROS is designed around wall and ceiling preparation, with a sanding head offering 180-degree flexibility. The shorter LEROS-S has two dedicated grip points and is intended for close control on large surfaces and in confined spaces. Mirka also describes applications for the short model on large wood and composite surfaces.
| Your typical work | Model to assess first | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Open walls and ceiling preparation | LEROS | Longer format suited to reaching the work surface |
| Bathrooms, corridors and restricted working space | LEROS-S | Compact body is easier to position in a confined area |
| Large panels within comfortable reach | LEROS-S | Two grip points support close control |
Use this as a starting point for selection. Consider the operator's working position, room layout and access equipment before choosing. A shorter tool may be easier to handle nearby, but that advantage changes if the operator must stretch to reach the surface.
Choose a complete sanding setup
The machine is only one part of the purchase. Plan the abrasive, backing pad, hose and extractor together. President Trading also lists a 225 mm replacement backing pad for LEROS and LEROS-S, a Mirka sleeve and hose assembly and DEXOS M-class dust extractors.
Check what the selected tool package includes before ordering accessories. Confirm the hose fittings, cable connection and abrasive diameter. The Galaxy and Abranet Ace discs listed in our 150 mm product pages are for a different pad size; they should not be ordered as consumables for a 225 mm LEROS.
Assess the finish with a small trial
Choose a representative patch of the actual substrate and allow fillers or coatings to cure as required by their manufacturer. Select an appropriate abrasive grade, connect extraction and follow the tool's operating instructions. Inspect the result before sanding the full area.
Look for remaining ridges, uneven material removal and visible scratches under the lighting the finished surface will face. The objective is a surface ready for the specified next coat. Taking off more material than needed can create extra filling and preparation work.
Extraction helps manage sanding dust, but does not establish a dust-free workplace or remove the need for the protective measures specified for the material and task.
What to tell us when enquiring
Send the surface material, typical wall or ceiling height, room layout and details of your existing extractor. Include your expected workload and any access constraints. This helps us discuss the tool format and accessories as one practical setup.
