The WEICON HEX-CRIMP 16 mm² is a professional crimping tool designed for process-safe crimping of wire end ferrules, producing a hexagonal crimp that helps ferrules insert cleanly into round terminals. It uses a ratchet mechanism with a blocking device to ensure consistent results and only releases once the crimp cycle is completed. An integrated emergency release supports safe recovery if the tool is misused, while an eccentric adjustment allows fine tuning of the crimping force for repeatable, reliable electrical connections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Weicon Hex Crimp Tool

Why is the die profile important in a crimp?

The die profile is important because it shapes how the connector is compressed—using the correct profile gives the right contact area, grip strength, and crimp dimensions, while the wrong profile can cause high resistance, overheating, loose connections, or damaged strands.

Why are hexagonal crimps used?

Hex crimps are used mainly for compression terminations like cable lugs, splices, and wire ferrules, where you need a strong, reliable 360° crimp—common in power distribution, industrial wiring, and control panels.

Why is a good crimp important?

A good crimp is important because it creates a secure, low-resistance connection and a strong mechanical bond, helping prevent overheating, loosening, and electrical failures over time.
